“When [my CASA] came into my life, I wasn’t as lonely. As strange as it sounds to some, it was relieving to have a person to call my own.”

– Monique, former foster youth

Funding and support for this event are critical to CASA’s mission to advocate for abused and neglected children, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are met through our CASA volunteers. Our volunteer CASAs provide advocacy, stability, and attention to foster and at-risk youth in Yolo County. Our donors fund recruitment, training, advocacy efforts, and professional supervision of advocates. Thank you for providing critical funding to help us toward our vision of providing every child and youth who needs a CASA in Yolo County with this vital support. Learn more at www.yolocasa.org.

Celebrating National Family Day 💙 Today we honor the power of family. For children in foster care, a safe and supportive home can make all the difference. A CASA volunteer is NOT a foster parent—but they are a powerful advocate.🏛️ CASAs spend time with their assigned youth, build trust, and ensure their voices are heard in court, school, and the community. They help make sure each child’s needs are met and their best interests are front and center!🥹 Want to learn more about becoming a CASA? In the month of May, we take time to reflect and celebrate the important role that Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders (AANHPIs) have played in shaping our shared history.

Yolo CASA honors the contributions of these vibrant communities and is committed to supporting children from all walks of life. ✨

We hope you had a lovely Mother’s Day celebration! 💐

As we reflect on the day, Yolo CASA honors all the incredible mothers—biological, adoptive, foster, and chosen—who show up with love, strength, and compassion.

Your impact on the lives of children, especially those in care, is deeply felt and appreciated. 💛
